Riverside Holiday Park is located on the Buller River front with more than 18 acres of well established grounds and is only a short walk to Murchison township.
A gathering place for kayakers and rafters and perfect place for fishermen and hunters to use as a base.
The Old Ghost Road mountain bike trail and tramping track is only half an hours drive, and an excellent place for the weary mountain bikers and trampers who just come off the track traveling on a budget.
We are the venue for the annual Country Western Jamboree held at the end of January, and the annual Buller Festival at the end of February.
A wonderful place for large groups looking for affordable accommodation and excellent place for families young and old.
Riverside is the entry to the Kahikatea Walkway an easy 20 minute walk that starts at the swimming hole, boat ramp and adjacent to golf course. This park has an abundance of bird life . Dog friendly but must always be on a lead.
The Best Kayakers Campsite in NZ
Steve • 19th Nov, 2015This is THE campsite for meeting kayakers. Just turn up, meet others with boats and paddle the amazing rivers all round. If you come over Christmas and New Year, you`ll hook up with dozens of boaters, and will be all set for a trip down to the West Coast... if you`re good enough! Quite quiet after mid February (except for the Buller Fest weekend) there are lots of kayakers who stay around for most of January, so you`ll meet people to go paddling with every day. ENJOY!
Pretty and friendly
Stefan • 19th Nov, 2015A really lovely place. Nice to stay and have a swim in the clear water. Staff is very kind and helpful. Facilities are ok, only dishes are few because they are often stolen. I would like to return!
Under new management and excellent!
Danielle Wigzell • 19th Nov, 2015We arrived at Riverview on Xmas eve as a party of 3 vans. We were warmly welcomed, had a great set of pitches and thoroughly enjoyed out Xmas there. Toilet and shower facilities were superb - clean and spacious and the locations was ideal - just a short walk to the amenities of Murchison. I highly recommend this campsite to families and travellers alike. Well done to the new owners!
Country Music Weekend
Haines Family • 19th Nov, 2015The Haines Family from Westport would like to thank you both for your hospitality over the long weekend. The improvement over the camping ground since you took over management was 110%! Keep up the good work and we look forward to coming back next year!
Very Enjoyable Stay
Leonard • 19th Nov, 2015Stayed with a campervan at this nice campground. The location by the river invites to strolls and is a good base for a number of activities in the area. Were very particularly happy about the up-to-date facilities: kitchen and washrooms are newly renovated - with modern fittings and diligent craftsmanship - and kept clean and tidy. Moreover the hosting couple is very friendly and helpful. An excellent place to stay for an affordable price. Comes highly recommended!
At home and friendly
Kei • 19th Nov, 2015I have been visiting this holiday park every christmas, maybe last 10 years and this year I had a pleasant surprise. Many facilities are really well maintained. Bed mattresses in cabins are new, kitchen and lounge area are much cleaner than the previous years, the kitchen is equipped with many pods and pans/utensils/dishes. The owner Linda and Robin are very friendly, too.
